Healthcare app architecture review before you build
An independent review for a team about to build or scale a healthcare or telemedicine app: the architecture, the technology choices, the data flows, the integration with hospital systems (HL7 FHIR, SOAP) and where patient data lives. You get a written report and a review call, before the decisions are expensive to change.
Who reviews the architecture of a healthcare app before it is built?
I do. I am Piotr Bomba, a software engineer in Poland. I build Flutter and Firebase apps for healthcare, the most recent one is in a clinical trial, and I put LLMs into production where data cannot leave the building. The review is independent: I am not selling you a platform or a cloud, so the report says what fits your app and your patients, not what fits a vendor.
The review
- Who it's for
- Teams about to build a healthcare or telemedicine app, or about to scale one from a pilot to more clinics, more patients or a hospital integration.
- What I review
-
- Architecture and the split into mobile app, backend and integrations
- Technology choices, for example Flutter and Firebase against the alternatives for your case
- Data flows: what enters the app, where it goes, who can read it
- Integration with hospital systems: HL7 FHIR, SOAP web services, what the hospital side expects
- Where patient data lives: regions, pseudonymisation, what stays outside the app
- What you get
- A written report and a review call where we go through it.

When to ask for it
- Before the first sprint, when the stack and the data model are still a diagram
- Before a hospital pilot that needs FHIR or SOAP integration
- Before a funding round or a grant application that asks for a technical plan
- When a pilot works and you are about to scale it
Already built? The security and GDPR audit is the read-only review of an existing app and its Firebase configuration.
Questions and answers
What does the architecture review cover?
The architecture, the technology choices, the data flows, the integration with hospital systems (HL7 FHIR, SOAP) and where patient data lives. It is an independent review for a team about to build or scale a healthcare or telemedicine app.
What do I get?
A written report and a review call where we go through it.
How is it different from the security audit?
The security and GDPR audit is a read-only review of an app that already exists: its code and its Firebase or cloud configuration. The architecture review happens before you build or scale, when the decisions are still open.
